Hi!  My name is Dan Freed, and as pastor I want to welcome you to our website, but more importantly, welcome you to Hilltop!  There are churches that you and I have visited that seemed to be filled with museum quality furnishings and people.  Marveling at how good everything and everyone looks, you nonetheless wonder inside, “Where do they keep their real selves?”  Here at Hilltop we are not a bunch of perfect lives, lead by a pastor who is everyone’s idealized spiritual self.  If that kind of Christianity has left you empty, or worse, injured, consider giving us a try.  I’m afraid we all have very real lives, with real scars; we are gifted, we are struggling, we are searching, we are finding, we are broken, we are healing, and, at the end of the day, by the grace of God, we are becoming something new.  Thank God, that renewal also includes me.

We offer three styles of worship-informal, traditional, and what we call our Logos service.  We have an expertly staffed infant nursery, Sunday School classes for all other ages, middle and high school youth groups, a huge range of camp options, short term special studies of either the Bible or life issues, women’s fellowship and craft groups.  We also offer hands-on ministry opportunities--last summer we built block houses for the poor in Juarez, Mexico.  Sometimes we serve the homeless at the Banquet here in Sioux Falls, we occasionally send care packages to military personnel in Iraq and to our college students attending class on whatever campus, help with Meals-On-Wheels, prepare mission kits to send all over the world.  We also have opportunities for those with musical talents to share those gifts—like in the choir or one of the worship bands .   If you have a real life, or a real family, looking to connect with a real God, to fulfill a real purpose, come check us out.  In closing let me say two things:  How may we help you?” and, “Welcome!”
